Remembering How Oprah Winfrey Helped Deceive the American Public About the FLDS

This video clip with veteran polygamy reporter, Mike Watkiss, shows how Oprah’s exclusive Interview at Warren Jeff’s Yearning for Zion Ranch in Texas was a whitewash that hid the truth of systemic sexual assault of young girls. What is hard to forgive is that she never did a follow-up admitting how wrong this had all been. Incidentally these girls also lied to her about the FLDS belief that people of African descent are cursed by God.

oprahThis ridiculous interview fueled public outrage at law enforcement and CPS who had been acting to protect these children from the adults preying on them. What was also not known at the time was that many of these children were not with their biological parents. Warren Jeffs had taken many children from their mothers and fathers, and reassigned them to “caretaker parents” who were thought to be more “worthy.”

Now we have to endure the spectacle of Winfrey interviewing Willie (the thug) Jessop on TV. Jessop was Jeffs’ enforcer and was feared by many FLDS. He is now playing the “I’m innocent” card – see our other posts for details. Does Oprah never learn?

The attached picture shows Oprah with Carolyn Jessop’s daughter, Betty. Betty had refused to leave the FLDS. In this clip, Betty lies to Oprah about underage “marriages,”- made worse by the fact that the 12-year-old girl that Warren Jeffs took in a horrible parody of a marriage, is in fact her half sister.
